As a Parent or Carer of a child in the school you automatically become a ‘friend of Ravenstone’, this involves as much participation as you wish, you can organise events, you can come to events, you can do nothing at all, it's totally up to you!

The objective of the FoR is to provide facilities and services that improve the well being of the students of the school.

​

A major part of this is to raise funds for the school for expenses not currently covered by the school budget.

​

The money raised is used to enrich our children's’ experience at Ravenstone, both in learning and play, from subsidising a major overhaul of the playground, to music lessons and technology upgrades, as well as easter eggs and christmas gifts! 

​

The events add to a sense of community within the school, and are a great way to meet and socialise with other parents.  We all want the best for our children, and this is a way to help achieve it whilst having some fun!

Friends of Ravenstone raises money through big events like the Ravenstock summer fair, the Christmas fair, quiz night, vitality night, shopping night and the school disco. There are also regular bake sales, Christmas cards and wrapping paper, and Christmas trees, to name just some of the ways we raise money.

We are happy to support anyone who wishes to arrange a specific event or has a great fundraising idea, from set up costs, volunteer support or school facilities.  We have a meeting at the start of each term to discuss spending, progress and new ideas, as well as the AGM once a year at the start of September term.
